Cruise liner the 'AIDAblu' is seen docked at Invergordon on the morning of Wednesday August 3rd 2005. This liner is some 69,845 tonnes and carries 1660 passengers (mostly German) with a crew of 650. Length 248.08 meters (930 feet) Breadth 32.32 metres (106 feet) Draught 8.218 metres (27 feet) Built in Italy in 1990 this liner is operated by Seetours Germany and is primarily used for 'value for money' informal cruises. It is the only liner in this fleet to have a Casino and a new children's centre has just been added.. Check
the buses on the pier, which were arriving from all parts of Scotland e.g.
Inverness, Strathpeffer, Huntly, Next port of call was scheduled Reykjavik (Iceland) departing the same evening at 2000hrs.
