A note from the Author - If you are interested in digital photography this section might kindle an interest for you

First, a little history and advice as to what you can view and the software needed etc. These pictures were all taken
by myself and involve some considerable time to get to this point. To get the best from these pages it is recommended
to use Mozilla FIREFOX as your Internet Browser. A click on the button below will take you to the official Firefox site where
you can download this alternative browser. You can quite easily and with no problems have two browser programs available
on your machine and can use either. Be warned - FIREFOX  is fast - you may not be so keen on coming back to Internet Explorer,
but try it and see is the advice, but do not remove Internet Explorer and you can use either.
Be aware - Some websites require exclusive use of Internet Explorer and these sites will not work with alternative browsers.

Using the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard you can scroll across the picture in FIREFOX  

Also in FIREFOX if you press Ctrl and + you can zoom in to any picture. Ctrl and - zoom out. Ctrl and 0 (zero) returns to default size

Press F11 within FIREFOX and enjoy a full screen. Press F11 again to exit full screen

 None of the above operations have been fully tested  in Internet Explorer

THE CRUISE SHIP THE 'AIDAblu' DOCKED AT INVERGORDON IN JULY 2005

The 'AIDAblu' cruise ship was my first serious attempt at a Panoramic picture.
This was taken on an Olympus 1.3 mega pixel digital camera with no zoom and
very limited features. This cruise ship is pictured docked at the Invergordon deep
water port in the North of Scotland. At 813 feet long, with 13 decks, weighing in
 at 70,310 gross tons, with capacity for 1708 passengers and carrying 619 of a crew,
this boat looks very impressive and is worth seeing. Built in Italy this boat came
into service in 1990 and caters mainly for the German tourists.

BRIDGE ACROSS THE RIVER SPEY AT CRAIGELLACHIE BUILT BY THOMAS TELFORD

This picture was taken with a Fuji S5600 which is in a different league altogether
    and a great improvement on the Olympus 1.3 mega pixel. The Fuji is 5.1 mega pixel
with 10x zoom for that hard to get shots. This is the latest panoramic picture and
 is featured as the 'Picture for the Month' for June 2007 on this website. This is the
first time I have attempted publishing Panoramas in this form to the website.

WAINUIOMATA HILL VIEW IN NORTH ISLAND NEW ZEALAND

  A long holiday in New Zealand in early February/March 2007 gave the Fuji S5600        
camera plenty to do. This panorama was taken at a magnificent view over the water
   at a point called Wainuiomata Hill View across Lowry Bay looking towards Wellington
  the capital of New Zealand seen on the other side and also in view is Soames island.
Also visible in this picture is the Hutt river where it enters the sea and a wonderful    
view of part of the Hutt valley. Check the houses clinging to the hillside.

CRUISE SHIP THE 'CENTURY' ON HER MAIDEN VISIT TO INVERGORDON IN MAY 2007

This is another cruise ship the 'Century' docked at Invergordon on the 20th
May 2007. This ship boasts 70,606 gross tons with a passenger capacity of
1600 and 13 decks. A first time visitor to Invergordon this ship will not be    
returning this year as opposed to some cruise ships, notably "AIDAvita",    
           which will call a total of seven times in the period between June and August,      
the first visit being the 21st June 2007. Hope to be there.

A SMALL WINDMILL FARM BESIDE HUNTLY

These are the future. Like them or loathe them they are here to stay and give us
the power we crave. I cannot decide if the 'double take' on the windmill blades
  enhances or spoils the effect. You choose. This small wind farm is around a mile
   outside the town of Huntly in Aberdeenshire some 40 miles North of Aberdeen in  
North East Scotland. Four miles further on towards Aberdeen along the A96 is   
another wind farm which boasts  26 turbines all feeding into the National Grid.
